How to use it?
Use plastic/wooden spoons and containers when handling bentonite clay and store in a cool/dry place. Depending on your hair/skin goals, bentonite clay can be mixed with water, apple cider vinegar, rose water, activated charcoal etc.
As a shampoo:
Bentonite clay can also be used as an alternative to shampoo. To prep, start off with a hot oil treatment. Because bentonite clay will shrink your pores, it's best to lock in pores with moisture from the oil. For a hot oil treatment, simply apply oil to your hair, cover with a plastic cap for 20 minutes and rinse with warm water. It is crucial that you detangle before masking hair as it will be difficult to detangle.
Mix the clay with water in a non-metallic container and make sure you mix using a wooden spoon. Apply mixture to hair, from roots to tips and continue to detangle. Leave the mixture in your hair for 5-20 minutes. Thoroughly rinse off with warm water and follow with steps 2 onwards.
