I would consider myself tender headed, in an attempt to minimise the pain I would experience, I learned to prep my hair and scalp before and in-between salon visits. One thing that I found challenging was the lack of product available for my hair type. Most of the products that seemed to work (minimised pain during detangling, kept my hair moist and aided in growth) were given to me by family that had traveled to Ivory coast, Kenya and Tanzania...These products mainly contained ingredients such as coconut oil, shea butter, avocado oil, lavender oil etc.
This realisation sparked my interest in natural hair and skin remedies. As time went by and my knowledge of Butters and Oils grew, I started to create my own products. Friends and family would try out these products and provide feedback. For years, I went back and forth, tweaking ingredients in the kitchen, until eventually, I believed we had a few winning recipes that worked... I believed in the products so much, I just had to take them to market. With no funding, I tried to do everything myself. With a very demanding 9 - 5 it all became too much to handle. I struggled to keep up with the demand and found that clients had to wait for long periods of time for products.

It was then when my mind set changed, I decided that it was time to think big. Natchu the brand, was born.
Why Natchu?
Simply put it’s a state of being Natural.
Going Natural to me came with a significant amount of soul searching (self-love). It meant striping away the mind set that kinky hair is messy and unattractive. It introduced loving my self at my purest state.
Why natural ingredients?
Because we all deserve the very best.
Natural ingredients provide a long-lasting effects, are typically gentler, are more environmentally friendly, and work in tandem with your skin and hair to attain a healthier condition.
My dream is to
empower people of all ethnicities to feel good in their most natural state.
